Effective 5/1/25, John M. Carson has joined FMS as Vice President – Strategic Marketing and New Business Development according to Chuck Thomas, FMS founder and CEO.
Fabricating Machinery Sales (FMS) is a leading provider of metal fabrication equipment, serving manufacturers, job shops, and industrial operations across North America. As part of his primary remit, Mr. Carson will be responsible for leading the charge to grow FMS’s current business platform in the rebar, bending, and materials handling segment for the construction industry (Rebar), as well as into new and specialty metal fabrication segments. Further his charter will be to expand FMS machinery sales and long-term business growth thru agency and regional representation additions said CEO Thomas.
As a new initiative for FMS, Carson will work closely with CEO Thomas to expand the current FMS brand, service and technology positioning in the metal fabrications segments thru improved marketing and consultative service additions geared to process, metal fabrication productivity and client efficiency enhancement, process automation and new systems development.
This new service offer by FMS will help lead generational metal fabricators to improve current performance, capability and profitability to meet future market and specific client product and business growth needs.
This is an exciting time for FMS and we welcome Mr. Carson, his skillset, energy and creative thinking to the FMS team as well as its Board of Directors for the company.
Prior to joining FMS, Mr. Carson was Executive Director for AltusGroup, Inc. a for profit research and technology licening firm serving the precast and prestressed concrete products industry and its members. Previous he served as Director of Commercial Development for Chomarat NA, VP of American Sahm North America, a specialist precision winding and textile process equipment company. He also worked for DuPont/ICI Polyester and Himont USA in the polyolefins and thermoplastics industry for over 20 years after graduating from NC State.
